INTERNATIONALIZATION
The CPU College of Education has expanded its global reach since 2018 through international internships and partnerships, such as the SEA-Teacher Project and CHED SIAP, across Southeast Asia. By combining these cross-border experiences with its Level IV Accreditation and Center of Development status, the college equips pre-service teachers with the multicultural competencies needed to excel in the global workforce.

Continuing the journey of friendship at Seikyo Gakuen. The CPU Tumandok Dance Company took center stage to share the vibrant soul of Filipino culture with the students of Nagano High School. A beautiful day of learning and rhythmic connection.

“Saludo in Japan,” held on June 16, 2024, featuring representatives from the Central Philippine University (CPU) College of Education. The poster showcases performers dressed in vibrant, traditional Filipino folk attire—including yellow Filipiniana gowns and Barongs with red scarves—onstage at a venue in Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture. These visual highlights, capturing both a formal lineup and a spirited performance finale, document a moment of international diplomacy where Filipino heritage was showcased to a Japanese audience, likely as part of an educational or sister-city goodwill mission.

On June 18, 2024, the CPU Tumandok Dance Company conducted a high-impact cultural outreach at a Japanese elementary school, an event featured by the national broadcaster NHK. Through interactive workshops and demonstrations, the ensemble taught traditional Filipino dances like the Tinikling to Japanese students, fostering direct engagement and mutual understanding. This immersive exchange successfully utilized the universal language of dance to strengthen international ties and promote Filipino heritage within the Japanese community.

June 26, 2024, serves as a heartfelt conclusion to the CPU Tumandok Dance Company’s tour in Osaka, Japan, focusing on the personal bonds formed during their cultural mission. The top photo shows the performers in their traditional yellow and green costumes posing joyfully with Japanese hosts and organizers, signaling the successful completion of their performances. In September 2025, the CPU Tumandok Dance Company solidified its status as a premier cultural institution by performing at the 3rd Manila International Dance Festival in Intramuros. Representing the CPU College of Education, the ensemble showcased Spanish-influenced Ilonggo folk dances in traditional Maria Clara attire. This high-profile appearance successfully transitioned the group from international tours to the center of the Philippine national stage, bringing Iloilo City’s unique heritage to a global audience in the heart of Manila.

On December 3, 2025, the CPU Tumandok Dance Company participated in the International Christmas and Holiday Concert, a virtual global event organized by Kawachinagano City, Japan. Dressed in festive holiday attire that blended their “Saludo” team identity with seasonal accessories, the ensemble performed alongside seven international schools to promote global unity. This engagement marked the company’s evolution into a digitally versatile cultural force, successfully fostering international goodwill and celebrating their enduring partnership with their Japanese counterparts through a shared passion for performance.
Student Internship Abroad Program
The Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) of College of Education is newly-established program of Central Philippine University. It started school year 2017-2018 under the management of the Dean of College. The Dean, being personnel Designated to manage program, in coordination with International Program Office and the office of the President of the University.
